Is there an airport transfer service?+
Yes — we offer complimentary or paid private transfers (depending on your room package)
to and from Kilimanjaro International Airport. Our vehicles are air-conditioned and our drivers speak
English. Transfers operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
How far is Mateves from Arusha city centre?+
Mateves is approximately 2km from Arusha city centre — a 5–10 minute drive. We provide
city transfers on request. The lodge is also walkable to several local restaurants and the market.
Your Stay
Is breakfast included?+
Yes — all room rates at Mateves include a full, lavish African breakfast served each
morning from 6:30am to 10:30am. We offer fresh tropical fruits, juices, egg dishes, artisan breads, cereals,
and a hot African option. Early breakfast can be arranged for safari or trekking departures.
What are check-in and check-out times?+
Standard check-in is from 2:00pm. Check-out is by 11:00am. Early check-in and late
check-out are available on request, subject to room availability. Please contact us in advance if you need
flexible timing.
What is the cancellation policy?+
We offer free cancellation up to 48 hours before your check-in date. Cancellations within
48 hours are charged one night's accommodation. No-shows are billed for the full booking. For groups of 5+
rooms, a 7-day cancellation policy applies.
Is WiFi available throughout the lodge?+
Yes — high-speed fibre WiFi is available throughout the entire lodge, including all
rooms, the restaurant, pool area, and gardens. Password is provided on check-in. Our connection is strong
enough for video calls and remote work.
Safari & Activities
Can you arrange safaris from the lodge?+
Absolutely. Our in-house safari desk arranges customised game drives to Serengeti
National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Amboseli. All safaris use private 4×4 vehicles
with licensed English-speaking guides. We work exclusively with TATO-certified operators.
Do you arrange Kilimanjaro climbs?+
Yes — we partner with KPAP-certified Kilimanjaro climbing operators. We provide pre-climb
briefings, secure gear storage, and a celebratory summit dinner upon your return. We can arrange all major
routes including Lemosho, Marangu, Machame and the Northern Circuit.
What cultural activities are available?+
We offer Maasai village visits, Arusha cultural heritage tours, Shanga disabled artisans
workshop visits, coffee farm tours on the slopes of Kilimanjaro, local market tours with our chef, and Meru

Payments & Booking
What payment methods do you accept?+
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), bank transfers,
M-Pesa (Tanzania), and cash in USD, EUR, GBP and TZS. Online bookings are processed securely via Stripe. A
30% deposit is required to confirm your reservation, with the balance due 14 days before arrival.
